Support
Help for Spatial Communications on Apple Vision Pro. The app is in development and currently available only to approved testers.
Requirements
- Apple Vision Pro running visionOS 26 or later.
- For email: a Gmail account. During testing, only Google accounts approved as test users can sign in.
- For phone messages (optional): an Android phone with the Spatial Companion app, on the same local network as your headset.
Troubleshooting
Google shows “Google hasn't verified this app”
This is expected while the app is in Google's testing mode. Only approved test accounts can continue past this screen.
The app asks me to “Reconnect Gmail”
While the app is in Google's testing mode, Google expires sign-ins after 7 days. Open Mail Account settings and choose Reconnect for that account. Sign in with the same Google account that was connected before — the app won't reconnect a different account in its place.
Throwing an email into the bin didn't remove it from Gmail
“Enable Real Trash” is off by default, so throws don't change your Gmail. You'll see a notice saying Gmail wasn't changed. To move thrown emails to Gmail Trash, turn on Real Trash in Mail Account settings. Throws can be undone, and trashed messages can be restored.
Images in an email aren't showing
Remote images are blocked by default for privacy. Choose “Load Images” on the message to show them.
I'm not sure whether a message was sent
The app shows “Sent” only after Gmail confirms. If a connection drops mid-send, the app never retries automatically (to avoid duplicates) and asks you to check your Sent folder. Sends have a five-second Undo window.
My new emails aren't appearing
The app checks Gmail for changes about every 90 seconds while it's open. Use Refresh to check right away. If an account shows as expired, reconnect it.
The phone won't connect to the headset
- Make sure the phone and the Apple Vision Pro are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Allow Local Network access for Spatial Communications in visionOS Settings.
- Keep the Spatial Companion app running on the phone, then pair again with the six-digit code if asked.
Text messages or contact names are missing
SMS reading, SMS sending and contacts are separate, optional permissions in the Spatial Companion app. Grant the ones you want from its status screen or in Android Settings. Without SMS access, the app only shows conversations from Google Messages notifications received while the companion is running.
How do I remove the app's access to my data?
Disconnect each account in Mail Account settings, which revokes access and deletes the sign-in from the device. You can also revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. See the Privacy Policy for details.
